How to get more from Mailchimp, do your job better and take away unnecessary admin.
None of us are masters of everything. We all hit brick walls sometimes when we’re trying to do our jobs and it Just.Won’t.Work.
You get stuck with something relating to Mailchimp, whether that’s technical or strategic. Or open rates have suddenly tanked. Or you’re just trying to figure out what on earth is going on in the account you’ve been given to look after.
On top of that you might have been given performance goals and targets to meet, and Mailchimp is a crucial part of reaching them.
But you don’t really know what it can do, how it can help you, and how to make it all happen.
And of course there aren’t enough hours in the day to figure any of that out because you’re busy doing a hundred other things.
That’s where I come in
Here’s how I can help Mailchimp help your business
You know Mailchimp does more, but you don’t know what. Or how.
The first step is often just understanding what it could do for your unique needs, the business’ goals, abilities and capacity. And often, if and how it could speak to the other tools and systems used.
So we have a chat and talk through the business its goals and tech, and your challenges and what you need.
Then I can walk you through the potential and how Mailchimp could be made to work to remove your admin and headaches, nurture leads, and drive sales or donations or build a community of loyal fans who remain customers or come back - whatever is applicable to you and the business.
Once you know those things, then at least you’re in a place where you can decide what to act on, and how.
Some of those next steps you might have the capacity to DIY, and others you might need expert help to get sorted. And that might be in one intense level-up hit, or more gradually over a period of time.
We can figure that out and decide on the best approach that works for you and the business as a whole.
Typically I become a temporary part of your team.
Then of course, we want to make sure everyone at your organisation who has any involvement in Mailchimp at all is on board and understands the what, why and how, so that all the hard work doesn’t get undone when other people start using it. So handover training is always tailored to different user groups
I can then provide ad hoc support afterwards as and when you need it.
You’re stuck or wasting time
Maybe that’s technical or strategic. Maybe you’re in a complete muddle - you have no idea what all the audiences, tags, groups and segments mean, where the data came from, if you have consent. Who is is a prospect, or a current customer, or a past customer, a cold lead or even a competitor.
Or any idea who they are or what they’re really interested in. Or your open rates have suddenly tanked. Or your template looks awful on mobiles or in dark mode.
Or you know you need to send regular emails, but everything is in a mess and you’re worried about sending emails out in case it’s a PR disaster.
Or, or, or…
We have a chat and agree the best course of action.
That might be a one-off consultation where I swoop in on my virtual helicopter, figure out the problem and make it go away.
Or it might be a larger piece of work, ad hoc support when you need it, regular mentoring, or I just handle your email marketing for you (with your input).
We can figure that out and decide on the best approach that works for you.
You need upskilling and training
Everything is already in pretty good shape and you want to manage the business’ Mailchimp newsletters and basic automations in-house, but you just want someone to show you how to do it properly.
Maybe you want to explore some more advanced features like multivariate testing and segmentation, or understand analytics better.
And you want to learn that in language your various team members can understand, and at a pace that works with their levels of expertise and technical abilities.
We have a chat about what you need, and the best format for the training.
That might be one or more sessions, or mentoring as and when you need help.
